Summer Reading!!!

Our Summer Reading program, Build a Better World, begins on Saturday, June 17 and continues through Saturday, July 29. Stop by the library for our Kick-Off event on Saturday, June 17, or any time after, to obtain your reading log! The Summer Reading program is for all ages—children, teens and adults! There are great programs to attend and prizes!

Book Donations Box
Book Donations Wanted!

We are delighted to announce that we are now accepting donations of used books, CDs, and DVDs! Check out our brand new donations box, located at the south end of the parking lot. Please note that donations are not being accepted anywhere inside the building. Bring your items to the donations box and help us replenish our stock--we are looking forward to a great sale in September!

Make a Bird Seed Garland

Wednesday, June 21  6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Edible garlands can be beautiful and functional additions to any backyard. The birds will appreciate the food, and birders will appreciate the beauty it brings to the yard not only through its colorful design but also through the colors and activity of the birds that take advantage of it.

Live Farm Animals at the Library!

Saturday, May 20

11am-12pm

The farm is coming to the library!  

The whole family will enjoy coming to see a pony, a donkey, goats, sheep, alpaca, bunnies, ducks, and a baby cow. When you’re done, browse our collection of books to learn more about each animal. This program will be outside, so dress appropriately. 

No registration required.

Volunteers Needed!

Westland Public Library is looking for  (2) dedicated volunteers to deliver books and materials every other Wednesday to Westland Homebound residents. If you are interested in supporting this program and donating your time, please contact Yvonne Lopetrone at Westland Public Library, (734) 326-6123. Download the Volunteer Application  and turn it into the Reference Department.
