Hoopla is Here!

We are happy to announce that the library now offers digital music, movies, TV shows, and audiobooks through Hoopla. Borrow up to 10 items per month for streaming on mobile devices or PCs. Returns are automatic, so there is no need to worry about overdue fines! To get started, see our Downloadables page. Please note that you must have a Westland library card to use this service. As always, if you have questions, please stop by the Reference Desk or give us a call at 734-326-6123.

Storm Safety Program

On Wednesday, July 30th at 7 pm, join the National Weather Service for tips on staying safe during dangerous weather. What can you do to protect yourself during a tornado or a severe storm? Are there any tornado myths out there that you've been believing? You'll also learn how the NWS forecasts the weather using weather balloons, Doppler radar, severe weather spotters, and more.They'll even bring a real weather balloon to show. Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the library on
Wednesday, August 13 from 10 am-4 pm. All interested donors may sign up
by registering at the American Red Cross website: redcrossblood.org and
enter sponsor code: wplccp or call 800-RED-CROSS. You can also call
the library (734-326-6123) and ask for Susan to register. Anyone over
17 (16 with a permission slip) can donate blood.

MI Big Green Gym

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan have teamed up to promote overall well-being and a healthy lifestyle through use of parks. One of the great things about this program is the availability of FREE one-day passes to Michigan state parks and recreation areas that you can "check out" at the Circulation Desk. Find out more about the MI Big Green Gym, peruse a list of state parks and recreation areas, and enjoy summer in Michigan!
