2025 was our 29th year in operation. As Westland continues to grow around us with additions like the new Nankin Square & Amphitheatre, we continue to be your learning and community hub right on Central City Parkway. Our collection expanded, we held some new and exciting programs, and we celebrated the things that make our library unique. We wanted to take a quick look back at the numbers that made 2025 special.
Library Usage in 2025

The number of people who walked through our door this year. With a population of 82,745 recorded in July 2024, this means there was an average of three visits per resident of Westland. If you’re a Westland resident and haven’t visited us yet, make sure to stop by in 2026!

The number of new Library Cards made! Don’t have your own yet? Join these 3,609 people in adding the best card you could ever own to your wallet, learn what your card gets you, and what you’ll need to get one on our Get a Library Card page!

The number of unique logins to our public Wi-Fi throughout 2025. Wi-Fi at the library is completely free to use, and even accessible from our parking lot when we’re not open! Check it out from your car the next time you need to get some early morning or late night work done, as our Wi-Fi operates from 7 AM until 11 PM.

The number of papers printed from our copiers and printers this year. That is over $14,000 worth of paper printed, and even more money saved in your wallet by using our 10¢ black and white printing services.

The total number of hours spent in meeting rooms this year. That is a combined total of 681 and 3/4 days spent studying, planning, running a small business, or just getting some quiet time in one of our meeting rooms. That’s almost 2 years!
Programming in 2025

The number of programs held at the library in 2025. From presentations to author visits, arts and crafts, and more, there was enough programming to fill every day of the calendar and then some this year.

The total number of attendees to our programming. That is a combination of 9,652 kids, 767 teens, and 7,305 adults enjoying our free programming in 2025.

The number of times we traveled for outreach in 2025. From school visits, farmers’ markets, and more, we engaged with a total of 8,898 people who got to learn how wonderful the library is!
